Dancer Portraits | Waterloo Park

Saturday, June 28, 2014

I consider myself very, very blessed to have had the opportunity to capture these two beautiful and bright ladies last night.  Both girls have the most lovely personalities and brought a perfect balance of serenity and playfulness to their session.

Thank you so much for the honour of capturing you two.  You are both destined for wonderful and great things and I hope you continue to show others, as you did to me during your session last night, your buoyant spirits, abundance of humour, and pure loveliness.

Please enjoy the first few images from your session!

Summer Vacation with Kids | Day One

Friday, June 27, 2014

After making myself a coffee and settling into our first morning of the girls being out from school, we thought we would start their vacation counting all of the change they have collected over the past few months.  I can't believe their haul!  A little change goes a long way and the ladies are beside themselves excited to spend away at Lookin' for Heroes - our local comic book store.

Simple, Timeless Engagement Ring

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

I thought I would share a quick image of this beautiful wedding band, belonging to a Bride who's engagement session was held over the weekend.  Over the past few years, I've only thought to capture the front of rings and never the sides.  Well, I'm starting a new trend, at least for Novella Photography, and have begun photographing the engagement ring in ALL of its glory!  Oftentimes, the sides are almost as stunning at the jewel itself!  I can't believe how often they get overlooked.

Hmm, I've never captured MY wedding ring...perhaps there will be a follow-up post to this ;)).

Simple USB Drive Packaging | Inspiration For Photographers

Tuesday, June 17, 2014

My packaging for Novella Photography was featured this morning on Photo Packaging Ideas (and you can click through here to see what my wedding couple receive when they purchase their digital files with me :)).

And speaking of packaging, I've been having a bit of a tough time coming up with a simple and sweet way to store USB drives containing a couple's engagement session.  I happen to be delivering images to a lovely wedding couple this evening and was in a bit of a panic when I realized I was out of the brown kraft boxes that usually house my USB drives!

My packaging happens to be stored in the pantry downstairs and, looking up from my search, my eyes came to rest on our canning jars!  Ha, I know it's a bit of an unconventional way to store a USB drive BUT I'm really loving how simple and dual-purpose a mason jar is (quirky storage presentation + future jam jar for my couples :)).

Enjoy the new packaging, feel free to share or implement it into your own business, and thank you so much for stopping by!
